Is it getting better, or do you feel the same...?

Has it's ups and downs, but progressing to the better side all along. Saw Nickelback last night in concert and always liked their song about "worth saving me." I downloaded the album, so don't know the name of the song. It's about God showing himself plainly to me if he wants to "save me." Kinda how I feel.

Music is really a sanctuary for me. U2 is a great group too. Never had the chance to see them in concert. Yet.

If Your Spouse Told The Elders On U, Is That a Marital or Religious Problem

if a faithful devout jw saw her husband on a board like this or reading "apostate" literature, if she was so disturbed by her husband's actions and the husband justified himself, would you think that if she told the elders because she was truly concerned that her mate was going to leave "the truth" and ultimately not make it into the "new system", --------that this was simply a marital issue-----not a religious one?.

I was married before I became a dub, maybe that's why I never thought that way. I am glad my husband doesn't see it that way either. He could turn me in for a whole lotta stuff! But, he chooses not to.

It put a strain on our marriage for a while when I quit everything that pertained to jws. I faded rather fast. But we worked things out and still are working on it.

My husband and I have always been there for each other. The watchtower society and the ones I called friends for 30 years, I can not say the same thing about.

Yes, Minimus, I am aware that there are real Stepford Witnesses, but I just don't think me or my husband were ever really one of them.

The spouse that tells may view it as a religious problem, but only because they are under mind control. It is strictly a loyalty issue which makes it a marital problem.

It is part of being an adult and part of being loyal to your mate to handle things between you and not go running to someone else. Marriage is for better or worse.

Thanks for posting the articles. The second one I had not seen. 10 million is a lot of money each year. But the other religions receive the same perks. Maybe some day, they will wake up and start taxing religions, who knows?

I have heard about Al Gore's house before and his reasoning is he pays carbon offsets for the extreme amount of energy he consumes. Kinda like salving the conscience of the rich. But I guess it is better than nothing.

I had not heard of Bush's house. If this is an accurate description, he is living more green than Gore. I am truly shocked. And I am not a lover of Bush. But you have to give him some credit, if he does it for the right reasons.

i have been reading this board for a year now, so i'm not new, but new to posting :)

please let me apologize in advance as i am having trouble separating what is true - from what i hear at the meetings, vs here, and private research, so i may ramble or say things that may sound watchtowery.

i still go to the meetings due to family pressure which may eventually end, not sure when, probably when i decide its enough.

You mention propheysizing in Jesus' name. How many prophecies of the Watchtower have ever come true? Would Jesus know them?

As far as preaching goes, do jws actually really talk to anyone much. Most of their time is spent knocking on empty doors or killing time in the circle drive.

If they really wanted to preach an urgent message, there are much more productive ways to accompliksh this,
